Things were amiss at Stockton’s Lincoln High School, Thursday, after a mid-May storm rolled through campus bringing large and heavy droplets of rain.  Emma Boccia, junior, said of the storms, “It sounded like winter, like there was a storm in the winter”.

But Boccia was not the only one caught off guard by the near summer storm, Myrah Feliciano, also a junior jokingly remarked, “I wore the wrong shoes to school today… after third period, it started pouring”

In addition to the significant rainfall and noise from the roofs as a result of the storms, flooding was also reported in the main parking lot.

“A lot of people could barely get to their cars,” said Boccia, “I was shocked because [the rain] was real hard and it’s been sunny.”

While no significant damage has been reported yet, some cars were submerged up to half of their tire in the waters of the parking lot.

More rain is on the way and should fall around 3 p.m. Thursday.  While no rain is in the forecast for Friday, it should return in time for the weekend as there is a chance for precipitation Saturday and Sunday.
