UC Davis to host Health Conference

The 6th Annual Stockton Health Empowerment Conference is fast approaching. The conference was first created in 2015 by medical students from UC Davis who wanted to improve the opportunities and resources for students in the Stockton area to pursue higher education, specifically in health professions.

The event encourages students from disadvantaged backgrounds to seek higher education while informing students about medical professions. The goal is for UC Davis students to “reach out to high school students who otherwise might not be able to get the information,” said Mrs. Hernandez in the College and Career in the LHS library.

The conference will take place on April 5th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Delta College. Students planning on attending should register online at bit.ly/UCDHealthConf. This is a great chance for students to learn about health professions who “would normally not have the opportunity to get this information,” said Mrs. Hernandez.
