The Haunted House starts preparation during the early days of October.  A lot of work is put in by teachers like Mr. Shary and Mrs. Contino, and by the students in Shary’s advanced drama class.  The students in advanced drama worked as directors, and students in other Drama classes were able to work as actors and techies.  Techies are the people who control the lights and sounds that are seen throughout the haunted house.  So much effort was brought through each and every person working in the haunted house.  Briana Ramirez is a freshman in Mr. Shary’s beginning drama class, and she was asked about her time being in room 8 in the haunted house. 

Question:  What was the best part about being an actor in the haunted house?  

Answer:  Meeting new people and getting to work with them was my favorite part.  

Question: What was the worst part about being an actor?  

Answer: Dealing with teenage boys was so annoying!  When they would walk through the haunted house, they would say annoying things to the actors.  

Question: Why should other students want to participate in the haunted house next year?  

Answer: They should get involved because it’s so much fun, and like I said you get to meet a lot of new people.  By getting involved with the haunted house you get to experience something you probably won’t experience ever again.  

Hearing the actors point of view about the haunted house isn’t something that is normally seen.  Hearing about their experience is fascinating.  Terilyn Hart is a senior at Lincoln High School.  She is in Shary’s advanced drama class.  Terilyn was able to get the chance to direct room 2.  She was interviewed about her time directing.  

Question: How different was it being a director compared to being an actor?  

Answer: It was more fun for me because I’d rather be directing than to be acting in the rooms.  It was also different because we had to put in so much work.  I didn’t realize how hard it would be working with other people while also making sure that your room is working, and making sure that the actors in your room are safe and fed.   

Question: What was the best part of directing?  

Answer: Having creative freedom and a creative atmosphere makes the haunted house really fun to be a part of.   

The haunted house brings in many different Lincoln High School students.  My friends and I had the opportunity to go through the haunted house.  Students at Lincoln High School caught a freight as they went through the 8 freakishly frightening rooms. They loved seeing the amazing actors and  the thrill that was given when they scared everyone .   Mirand Sullivan and Jacob Melara are seniors at Lincoln High School and they went through the haunted house.  Miranda previously went through last year’s haunted house and was excited to go through again.  This is Jacobs first time seeing the haunted house and he was excited to partake in the school renowned event.  Both students were asked about their experience before and after the haunted house these were their answers.   

Miranda Sullivan (before) – How are you feeling before going into the haunted house ?  

• I’m nervous but I’m excited to see the new rooms and actors.  

Miranda (after) – What were your thoughts about this year’s haunted house?  

• “I honestly loved it, the concepts of the rooms were very out of the ordinary and that’s what  made it very enjoyable.  ”

Miranda sees this as a better, more revamped version of the haunted house.  He loved seeing the vibrant portrayals of the actors and their characters.  She sees it as a great ending to her Lincoln High School experience.  

Jacob Melara (before) – How are you feeling before going into the haunted house.  

• “I’ve been anticipating this so I’m excited to see if I will get scared or not.  ” 

Jacob Melara(after) – What were your thoughts on this year’s haunted house ?  

• “I thought it was really cool, even though I don’t really get scared easily, some of the rooms scared me.  ”

It was nice to hear that Jacobs’ first time in the haunted house was positive, this just shows that even if you don’t get scared easily the haunted house can get you.  

I also got the chance to go through the haunted house and let me just say it was amazing.   The cast of these rooms did a great job on all of their parts, it was also my first time going in years so it was a nice refresher to see the new storylines that these rooms took on.
