Stockton- To start off this week’s highlights, Lincoln’s Varsity water polo is on a three-game winning streak, coming off their successful game at home on the 10th against Sierra. They won the game 20-9, with big numbers being put up in the first three quarters. To speak about the game and how his team did is junior James Robinson. When asked how he felt about the team this year, he replied: “I feel confident about my team this year. We work in unison and this is what helps us win games.” Robinson is looking forward to the rest of the season and hopes to become more communicative so he can help his team win their next game.
The Friday Night Lights shined bright this past week as Lincoln’s Varsity Football team won their first home game of the season. The Trojans were victorious against visiting team Pleasant Grove Eagles with a score of 43-28. This was a big win for Lincoln, as the Eagles were 3-0 heading into this game and had not given up a point yet this season. The game started off shaky with the Trojans down 13-0 in the first quarter and trailing behind the whole first half. However, they regrouped during halftime and came out strong, racking up the points and coming out on top. Lincoln’s players of the game were defensive player Jaylon Mays and Special Teams leader Kendrick Davis. The Trojans are still in non-league play and are looking to grab another win this Friday against Manteca High School.
Lastly, over the weekend, our girls varsity water polo team beat Gregori 14-3 at their varsity tournament. The top performers of the game were Junior Mackenzie Weiler with 9 out of their 14 points and sophomore Evie Schipper with 10 saves. Another player who helped support the team and help to secure a win is senior Lilliana Hernandez, who played all 28 minutes of the game and scored 3 goals herself. The team worked hard to stop Gregori from putting up high numbers with 7 steals throughout the game. Check out the home game tonight against West at 4:00 p.m. at Lincoln.
