This past week, Lincoln hosted one of its most eventful weeks of the year, Homecoming Week. This year’s homecoming theme was the Oscars, which included an Oscar-decorated rally, dance, activities, and thoughtful spirit weekdays. This week brought the campus to life and allowed many students to express their school spirit. The rallies were incredible and filled with many amazing clubs, games, and class skits. The dance had a lot of attendance and, with it being formal for the first time this year, many enjoyed the event. Though homecoming week was exhausting, it brought a new topic to discuss daily. It created many unforgettable memories for many students and their friends.
To start off this fun-filled week, all of the days had a twist, allowing students to embrace their goofy side. Monday was “Dress in Your Favorite Costume Day.” People were dressed in many fantastic costumes with their friends. Lots of people seemed to enjoy this day. Tuesday was “Best Hair and Makeup Day.” Many people did clown makeup, while others did something unique with their hair. Wednesday was “Best Music Day,” and you had to wear the attire of your favorite music artist. People wore Lil Baby, Tupac, Aaliyah, and more. Thursday was to dress as an actor of your choice or a supporting actor like the Grammys. You were supposed to match with your friend. Lastly, Friday was “Oscar Day,” and you were supposed to wear your grade colors. Overall, the spirit week helped keep a positive energy on campus. It lets students have fun and have activities to participate in besides school work.
On October 18, the homecoming dance, which many students await every year, was held at the University of the Pacific. One of the most symbolic events for many, it is no doubt that it met everyone’s expectations. It was a place full of joy, a place to socialize and share in the most pleasant way possible. Eventually, the homecoming dance concluded successfully, filling our minds with memories and marking them for the rest of our lives.
On Friday, October 19, all of the clubs on campus came together for the carnival. All the clubs that participated offered different varieties of food and games at their booths. Being a yearly tradition during homecoming week, the carnival took place at The Oaks, where Lincoln Idol also took place and many students performed. Overall, the whole homecoming week was a huge success and brought the hype of homecoming to its peak. Next year, it will be just as fun and prosperous. Thank you for all your participation, Trojans!
