Stockton- With each passing day we realize that the diversity of cultures and linguistics is a great pillar and strength that describes the USA. The multilingual center is a necessary help for students and parents who have English as a second language. The fact that Lincoln High School has this program reflects its interest and understanding towards its students who, as in many cases, come from other countries and do not have a fluent level in English. That is why the Multilingual Community Center (MLCC), has three staff members sufficiently prepared to provide students with tutoring during classes and even during lunch and after school.
For many, this center is more than just a classroom to come to for tutoring. It has become a refuge for students where they can feel free to speak their language, coexist with other students who also speak their language, and provide cultural activities which enrich the students’ minds by the respect and importance due to their roots.
As we continue to move toward a more diverse world, the MLCC will continue to be a foundational piece of Lincoln High School, and it is gratefully recognized and celebrated by the extraordinary teachers, students, and parents of the Lincoln Unified District.
