Stockton- Women of Color Club Makes its mark at Lincoln High School in a nice display of unity and support, the Women of Color Club has become one of the most dynamic student organizations at Lincoln High this year. The Woman of Color club President and founder, Myshalai Henson says she started the club a couple years ago. “I started this club in March of 2023, during my sophomore year. I am now a senior.” The club holds meetings to discuss different topics and issues related to feminism such as wage gaps, influential women of color, and period poverty.
“The club offers a safe space for girls of color to connect with each other and share their experiences,” said club President Myshalai Henson. One of the best parts about this club is that it isn’t exclusive to women of color. Anyone can join and share their experiences and educate themselves on the issues that women of color face in today’s society.
As of lately, the club has been working on a hygiene drive for a local women’s shelter. This drive gives students the opportunity to help someone else in need. Any hygiene products are much appreciated and needed.
