Stockton- A fashion trend is a style of clothing or expression that is popular for a period of time. They often start from celebrities, social media influencers, designers, and street style. Designers are inspired by music, politics, nature, and pop culture. Over time they may change due to weather or can become a long term trend. A seasonal trend can be wearing Uggs in the winter or hoodies. A long term trend can be ripped jeans and athletic wear like Nike pros. Many people have their own unique fashion sense and can style themselves in ways that they like it.
My favorite fashion trend is baggy jeans. You can style a pair of jeans in any way, you can make your look casual or dress it up with different accessories. I like to wear them with plain fitted tees, graphic tees, hoodies, denim on denim, or jerseys. It is always good to have one pair of jeans that you really like so you always have a pair of pants you know will fit you and look good! Also, baggy jeans are comfortable when you don’t want to wear something tight, but are still looking for a better fit than sweatpants. Baggy jeans originally came from street wear which is something that I personally like to incorporate into my outfits. When people overly bag their jeans, I think it looks too much. The right amount of baggy that fits your body looks more slick in my opinion. Baggy jeans are a great way to express your style.
Clothing is what most people look at but a nice pair of shoes can really tie into an outfit. My favorite shoe trend as of right now is high boots with a mini skirt. I don’t own any high boots but that is the next pair of shoes I want to buy. It makes an outfit look put together and you can wear it to an event or a night out. Also, with it being winter, it could pair nicely with a sweater skirt. It would probably be hard to walk in them but if it isn’t too high then it should be okay. I used to think high boots were only for moms, but when I started seeing the girls in our generation’s style, then my mind changed. Shoes can really make or break an outfit.
Fashion can be fun to show your creativity but there are some instances where things shouldn’t be worn. My least favorite fashion trend would be a fanny pack. If you’re wearing it with a nice pair of jeans and a top casually to school I wouldn’t approve. Fanny packs can be useful if you’re going on a run but to school, I don’t see the point in that. The first time I saw someone wear one to school was like the 6th grade but I thought it looked terrible with the outfit. Everyone has their own style so I keep my thoughts to myself. You may like something that I don’t and that is okay. Fashion is fun!
