Stockton- I had long hair, I was lost and broken trying to figure myself out. I wanted a new look, a look that perceives greatness and makes me feel free. As I sit still wondering what I can do, I think about others just like me. Ninja; his elegant hair that flows like water. It is something I had thought about other than deciding to give myself a buzz cut. Would his haircut fit me? Will I be just as good looking as Ninja? I step up to my barber and give him a smirk that signals what I want. “Give me what Ninja got.” I said as I walked in, smirking at him. My barber believes I would look good or even better than Ninja with this golden haircut of his. “Low Taper Fade right?” My barber says. I give him a quick nod that indicates yes. He then showcases what he is good at, the clipper slicing my hair clean off showing the fade above my side burns. “It’s clean” I say as he moves on to a different part of my hair. He tapers the back of my head, “tapers are clean to me,” I think. I get them usually but today was the day I wanted something new. He finishes up and starts on my hairline. He can’t mess up, and if he does; things will go sideways. He uses the sharpest razor in history, I fear for my life that he accidentally cuts me. I trust him enough that he doesn’t. “Alright, that’s 25$” My barber says. I pay him in return for what an amazing job he has done to me. I look at myself in the mirror and I smile and think to myself, “Man, I look good.”
