In Brugelette, Belgium, a little white rhino named Nova catches the eye of visitors at Belgium’s Pairi Daiza Zoo! Nova made her appearance in the public on Wednesday, February 26 2025. She was born on January 2, 2025 and is a part of a very rare species that is unfortunately endangered known as the Southern White Rhino.

Lots of wildlife enthusiasts are pleased to see a beautiful healthy rhino alongside its mom! Her mom’s name is Ellie and she apparently is used to a vast amount of attention! Nova is one of the few white rhinos born in captivity. Although her being a part of the zoo is a really exciting milestone when it comes to the protection of endangered species.
From the moment Nova was captured and eventually visited by the public, she was adored. The zoo had dedicated themselves to creating a strong and nurturing environment to ensure she is well taken care of and comfortable. They want to make sure she thrives and can also be enjoyed by visitors!
As stated previously, Nova being so carefully cared for is a nice reminder of wildfires experts efforts to care for endangered species. White rhinos have unfortunately faced lots of threats on a daily basis. The species is commonly in danger due to poaching and loss of their habitats.
