Stockton- Raymond Laniohan is a senior at Lincoln High School who balances his schoolwork and AP art class, and tattooing! After recognizing his son’s interest in tattooing, Raymond’s father gifted him a tattoo kit on his 16th birthday. To practice, he started on pig skin, which is commonly used for tattoo practice. After practicing for over two years one of the first tattoos he did was an exoskeleton design on his father’s foot.
Raymond often creates tattoos for his family that hold significant meaning, with one of his favorites being jasmine flowers that he did on his mother’s leg for his sister, who’s name is Jasmine. He draws a lot of inspiration from his art classes, and as an AP art student, he enjoys using ideas from his artwork for his tattoos and vice versa. One of the pieces he particularly loves is a continuous line drawing of Art the Clown that he is currently still working on. Additionally, he has done various tattoos inspired by horror films and characters such as Ghost Face from “Scream,” Art the Clown from “Terrifier,” and Mr. Scrooge from “Duck Tales,” and plans to do many more. Raymond spires to make a career out of his practice and might even give himself a tattoo one day he says!
