Stockton- Anissa Miles is a senior at Lincoln High School who has been a part of the cheerleading team for all four years. While also being involved in the ASB student body. But that can just be any other typical highschool student. Anissa has an outside life not not every student can say they relate to. Her parents have been pastors for about six or so years. This means Anissa does get to accomplish and do a few things not every teenager who goes to church does.
At the church Anissa helps plan events, children bible studies, etc. She gets to experience the time and efforts it takes into building a community at church. She says she gets to take on the challenges of religion while also teaching it to younger children, which is something she enjoys the most out of it. And if there were any inconveniences between her schedule, Anissa says that doesn’t cause any problem for her. She just caught on to learn that she needs to know certain events of schedules, for cheer or church, ahead of time. That way she is able to manage her time more durably. Even though Anissa’s parents have been pastors for six or more years. Carrying that legacy isn’t something she is reaching towards. But for right now, she is appreciating every moment she has there.
As a senior in high school, involved in cheer, and many school events, it’s impressive to know that Anissa manages to make time to use her time outside of school to help educate a belief, to teach children, and to still make do with anything school related. It’s something not everyone can do, it’s honestly very impressive.
