Stockton- The yearbook is a representation of each year you lived while attending Lincoln High School. The book is always bright and showcasing events and activities that you were a part of.
Did you know the yearbook is created by students? The yearbook class is specifically 4th and 5th period and is an elective class. The students involved put lots of effort into planning and creating a book that encapsulates the school year. They go out to events that the school offers and take pictures as well. The students take time out of their days after school hours to get the material needed to make the masterpiece.
According to Mr. Selna, who teaches English and yearbook, the students are making a “time capsule that they can look at for the rest of their lives.” The editor in chief for the class, Shereen Altaian explained that making books is a nice hobby and the class allows her to express her creativity. A fun thing the class does is keep the theme of the book a secret. The theme then gets revealed during the distribution, which is the last week of the school year. Building up the suspense of the book gives students of Lincoln High something to look forward to. As a first year student of the class Jeremiah Latu He expresses his happiness to work on the book as a “selfless act.”
Make sure you buy the yearbook ASAP! The first batch of sales were at the beginning of the year for $65. As the school year gets closer to ending, the prices will rise until capping at $80. The two sales are wintertime becoming $70 and at the end of the year becoming $75. Both these sales last about a month from the launch. The school greatly relies on yearbook sales to put on events or other things needed around campus but a great deal of it goes to creating the yearbook for the next year. Get it before it’s too late and support the people creating the book, and get a relic that will give you a trip down memory lane each time you open it!
