Stockton The end of the school year is near, which means receiving your yearbook! Getting a yearbook is a good way to make memories last longer, and a way to be able to look back on them later in life. The yearbook class works hard each year to ensure that students are happy with the outcome of the yearbook. The hard work and dedication that the class puts into the yearbook each year doesn’t get recognized by the students. Most students that work on the yearbook feel as if other students don’t realize the amount of hard work that is put into each page.

Devin Thompson says “I think the yearbook students don’t get enough recognition for making the yearbook because we spend a lot of our time going to sports games to take pictures. We also have to type out all the stuff that goes into the yearbook and there are a lot of different pages in it, and it is very time-consuming.” Although students aren’t getting enough recognition for their hard work, Devin enjoys being in the class. “My favorite part about being in yearbook class is collaborating with other people and I like being able to write. Being a part of this class allows me to see new things because I never went to sports games before, so it was a good experience being able to take pictures on the fields.”

Amia agrees with Devin on how the yearbook class is not given the respect they deserve.  Amia Ashley Church is a senior in the yearbook class. She was assigned all of the football spreads. Amia says that the process of putting the yearbook together isn’t recognized as a year-long process. She also believes that students should appreciate the yearbook class more. Librada Diaz says she loves collaborating with her classmates on different pages. She also believes that being able to create a book that will last for the next generations to see is rewarding.

Although yearbook students struggle with being recognized for their hard work, they all love the class.
