Most people may know about the show Squid Games, a tv show in which a series of kids games are played for people that are desperate for money and in a lot of debt. However, these games weren’t just normal kids games with no consequence. If players were to lose during a game, they’d be shot and killed. The series takes place on a remote island, and each player practically disappears by getting put to sleep and transported to the island. The players are chosen based on the fact they are in great debt or finances. The maker of the whole game sends his employees who are everyday people not in financial debt and loyal to their boss to look for the future players that are in great financial decay to pursue them into thinking there is a way to cover any debt they have. Each player is then offered and given a card, which tells them all where to go. Unknowingly that they would get put to sleep and moved to the island, or how the games truly worked, anyone in great debt or finances agreed to play these games to win.
The question is: If you were in great debt would you still continue to play these children’s games to pay it off, even if it meant you might not make it out alive?
