Stockton- As the season of Friday night lights comes to an end, the anticipated season of basketball begins, and this year Lincoln’s Boys Basketball team is expected to have a season you won’t want to miss! The team is led by seniors Jagger Merolla and Dilan Fanucchi, as well as sophomore Tre Simmons who were a part of the Lincoln team from last year that made it all the way to the state championship but lost a close one to Sierra Canyon High School. The boys have been practicing diligently for weeks now which has included conditioning, strength training, and hours of practice in the gym working on their skills. This work has helped them prepare for their opening game this upcoming Wednesday, November 19th at home against Woodcreek High School. To share his thoughts on the upcoming season is Dilan Fanucchi, a four year member of the varsity basketball team:
The Lincolnian: “How are you feeling about the upcoming season?”
Fanucchi: I am feeling very confident and excited for one last year playing with some of my good friends.
The Lincolnian: “What are your predictions for the team this year?”
Fanucchi: I think we will have a solid year and definitely make it to the playoffs, and I am hoping we can make it back to the same spot we were in last year.
The Lincolnian: “Do you have anything you want the Lincoln High School students and families to know about this season?”
Fanucchi: I hope everyone shows up so we can have packed crowds and prove to all of our supporters that we are ready to have another great season!
Well Trojans, you heard it here, the Lincoln Trojan Boys are back in action and ready to defend their name with another outstanding season full of epic wins, crazy dunks and three pointers, and to do so, they need the support of our LHS community at their games!
