Adulting Is Like A Playground
Trojan+Motivation

STOCKTON Adult is such a small word, but it’s more than its definition says.  It’s more than paying the bills and having other people than yourself to take care of.  When it comes to being an adult there’s so much to it that people don’t tell you.  They don’t show you all the behind the scenes until you’re there.  You don’t learn how to pay bills or do your taxes until you are actually an adult.  You might have parents that teach you early how to do that, but most of us don’t learn till we are there.   With all of this being said, an adult is what you’ve been waiting for your whole life yet it’s different than you expected.

Life is like a playground;  we all start out at the slide and monkey bars but after we learn how to do the monkey bars we move onto the slide.  Soon enough we don’t even go to the playground anymore.   Just like high schoolWhere high school is your monkey bar.  Once you get out it’s a breath of relief of “yay i did it, i made it through the monkey bars.”  But it’s also a deep breath in that “yeah i made it through the monkey bars, but where do I go now?”  Do I go to the slide?  Rock climbing?  There’s other people there; will I be accepted?  Suddenly the monkey bars which you thought were your biggest obstacles disappear and you see all the obstacles ahead of you.  A sigh of relief but also a big breath in.  It feels like so much is happening and you think you’re supposed to have it all figured out, while you’re not despite what people tell you.   If you have it all figured out that’s great but most of us don’t.

Most of us are trying to figure out if we go towards the slide or the rock climbing. Once you figure that out I want to say it gets easier but the truth is, it doesn’t.  It just gets closer to where you want to be one day because there’s always going to be another playground.  One day you’re going to want to go back to the monkey bars because the slide is frightening and overwhelming.  The slide isn’t scary, the curves on it are scary.  The bumping of left to right not knowing what’s at the end of the slide is scary.  Once you get out suddenly that fear disappears, instead feeling of accomplishment might appear.  Being an adult is hard,As you never know what’s going to happen or you might not even know whether to go left or right. .  Things don’t always go our way, we can’t always go right even if we wanted to.  Curves aren’t meant to hurt you, they’re there to make you stronger.  Life has curves yet once you find yourself and get past those curves it’s not that bad.  The point is we must move on from the monkey bars that got us started.
