Stockton- Amelia Earhart was an American pilot and a flight pioneer, breaking many records in the 1930’s. She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic ocean alone. This accomplishment set two more records for the fastest crossing by a woman and longest non-stop distance by a woman. She also has many records for flying from place to place solo such as Hawaii to the U.S., Mexico City to Newark, and the first person to fly solo across the United States. In 1931 she beat a previous altitude world record, reaching 18,415 feet in the air.
These accomplishments showed that Amelia Earhart was a fierce pilot and leader. She had a big impact on the role of women in flying. Her skills and accomplishments showed women around the world that they can do what men do, and they can be their own leader.
